This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on JustOneMom.com. It works together with our Privacy Policy.

1) What are cookies (and similar tech)?

  • Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser.
  • Local Storage / Session Storage stores data in your browser similar to cookies.
  • Pixels/Tags are small code snippets that help measure actions and performance.
We use these to keep the site secure and functional, remember preferences, and (with your consent where required) understand usage and improve content.

2) How we classify cookies

  • Strictly Necessary – required for security, core functions (cannot be switched off).
  • Performance/Analytics – help us understand traffic and improve the site.
  • Functional – remember choices (e.g., language, TOC state).
  • Advertising/Affiliates – measure outbound clicks to partners; some third parties may use them to deliver or measure ads.

Cookies may be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by another domain), and session (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (stays until it expires or you delete it).

3) Our legal basis & consent

  • Strictly necessary cookies: legitimate interests (running a safe, usable website).
  • All other cookies: your consent (GDPR/UK GDPR/ePrivacy).
You can give or withdraw consent at any time via Cookie Preferences (see Section 6).

For South Africa (POPIA), we collect only what is necessary for stated purposes and honor your rights to access, correction, objection, and deletion.

4) What we use cookies for

  • Security & reliability (load balancing, fraud prevention).
  • Basic site functions (comments, forms, remembering your choices).
  • Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics 4) to understand what content helps readers.
  • Email & forms (e.g., WPForms/MailerLite/Mailchimp) to manage sign-ups.
  • Affiliate tracking (e.g., Amazon Associates, Awin, Impact) to attribute purchases when you click an outbound product link.
  • Embedded content (e.g., YouTube, Instagram) which may set their own cookies when you interact with the embeds.

If you don’t use some of the services above, just remove their rows from the table below.

* You can shorten GA4 retention in your analytics settings.

Note: Cookie names can change over time. Your consent plugin usually auto-detects and lists active cookies on your site; update this table periodically.

6) How to manage your choices

  • Cookie banner/preferences: Click Cookie Preferences to review or change your settings at any time.
    • If using Complianz, add a link/button with shortcode:
    • If using CookieYes, add: [cookie_settings] or [wt_cli_manage_consent]
    • If using another plugin, insert its “manage consent” link or button here.
  • Browser controls: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Useful guides are in Settings → Privacy for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Blocking all cookies may break some features.
  • Analytics opt-out: You can disable analytics in Cookie Preferences or enable “Do Not Track” in your browser (we honor it where practical in combination with consent tools).

7) Third-party cookies & international transfers

Some cookies are set by third parties (analytics, embeds, affiliate networks). These providers may process data in other countries (e.g., EU/US/UK). We contract with them to protect your data and use appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs) where required. Please review their policies for details.

8) California (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information. Some partners may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising when non-essential cookies are enabled.
To opt out: open Cookie Preferences and disable Advertising cookies, or email [email protected] with subject “Do Not Sell or Share”. You may also visit /privacy-choices/ if available.

9) Children

We don’t knowingly use cookies to profile or market to children under 13. If you believe a child has interacted with our site in a way that concerns you, contact us and we’ll assist.

10) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or our services. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
